Ever since I was young, I wanted to work in a field that would allow me to help people. Software engineering allowed me to gain the skills to help people in any industry and across the globe. During my time studying Software Engineering at Auburn, I discovered my passion for front end development, UX design, and web development. I enjoy the front end of software because it allows me to build relationships with people and help them build a tool that can assist their business and craft how they present themselves to the world. Front end work allows me to use my creativity and have fun with artistic elements to create the best experience for users.
Atlanta born, Austin raised, Chicago livin’.
I grew up in Austin, Texas and discovered my passion for programming while in high school. I continued my education as a member of the Honors College at Auburn University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Software Engineering from the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.
In Auburn, I love spending time with my friends, cheering for our Auburn Tigers, finding the best brunch in town, giving tours of the College of Engineering as a Cupola Engineering Ambassador, and hanging out on the most beautiful campus in the world. Though I might’ve spent about 30% of my time in college in a global pandemic, I will always cherish my time spent in Auburn (even if I had to spend some of it over Zoom).
In the summer of 2019, I traveled to Rome and Madrid to complete my Business Minor. I love to travel and I was so excited to get the chance to study through Auburn while exploring new, exciting places! I have made such amazing friends and memories while abroad that I will remember forever.
During my time at Auburn, I worked as a Web Assistant with the College of Engineering’s Communications and Marketing Department. I created and modified various pages of the college’s website to reflect different departments, offices, and organizations’ marketing goals. I also orchestrated a major redesign for the department websites. The redesign included drafting wireframes, attending design meetings to refine the vision for the pages, and pitching my designs to those involved with the college’s marketing goals, such as the dean of the college. The redesign brings the department’s pages into the modern age and includes an organized site architecture and navigation to improve user experience.
Following my graduation from Auburn, I moved to Chicago to begin my career. After answering “do you know how cold it gets up there??” from almost anyone I told, I excitedly packed my bags (and my coat) to head to the city. I love exploring the different neighborhoods of Chicago, trying new restaurants, biking by the lake, and scouting out rooftops with the best view.
In my free time, I love to travel, hang out with friends and family, go to concerts, explore Chicago, read, try new recipes, watch Survivor and plan for when I finally get to compete, hang out on the lake, drink sweet tea, watch Auburn football, and try new things! Check out my social media to keep up with my happenings.
